The library will contain around two million books and reference
materials, additionally a specialised section for regular
publication issues, Children library, Qatari Documentation and
an English Language Library. Advanced computer software systems
will be implemented for classification and storage of books and
reference materials, to provide easy access for readers and
researchers. Advanced communication medias with other
international libraries will also be available.
Qatar National Library is a complete library system, under the
full control of Qatar Government. It is a focus point for
society, providing individuals of different backgrounds and
cultures with an easy media by which to exchange knowledge and
experiences.
It’s main goal is to collect and classify historic, current and
future information which is related to the country and to the
surrounding region. It will house rare books and documents which
are focused on the country and regional culture, this will make
it the largest cultural institute in the Gulf Region.
