For SkyLib to function properly, we require users to disclose their name, email address and home address. Optionally, additional personal information, such as a profile photo, may be submitted by users.
We store information about which products and goods users own, as part of the SkyLib service.
Information about the products themselves ("product profiles"), including pictures of products are not considered personal information and can be shared with anyone. As a result, do not put sensitive information or pictures in the product descriptions or pictures of products.
Children Under 13
SkyLib does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use SkyLib.
How we collect info
Non-personal, aggregate usage statistics are gathered via Google Analytics and / or other technologies.
SkyLib may use the IP address of the visitor to infer a geolocation. This location is not stored unless the user explicitly consents.
SkyLib keeps server logs that contain IP-address and which browser and OS the user was using. Such logs are kept no longer than two months.
SkyLib may use GPS or other positioning technologies to access the user's location, but only after the user explicitly agrees to it.
Certain information, such as device type, OS and other diagnostic information may be collected from the mobile applications in the event of application crashes. Such information will only be sent to SkyLib after the user explicitly agrees to it, and will only be used to improve the apps in question.
How we use your info
We use the information you give us to provide, maintain, protect and improve the SkyLib service.
For instance, information about the geolocation of items and information about your geolocation can be used to show you a list of items nearby. And information about friends can be used to let your friends view the items that are shared only with your friends.
We use your email address to let you know when someone wants to borrow your stuff, and other updates as necessary for the SkyLib service. Optionally, you can choose to receive email updates about SkyLib activity among your friends and near you. SkyLib may share your contact information with other users in order to facilitate the exchange of items, but we will always ask you before we do so.
When we share your infoWe do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of SkyLib, except when one of the following apply:
- Consent: We have your explicit consent to do so. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.
- Legal reasons: We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of SkyLib if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:
- - meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
- - enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
- - detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
- - protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of SkyLib, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of SkyLib.
How we store your info
Your information is stored in the cloud on Google App Engine servers. We may in the future move to other cloud computing platforms, or use servers of our own.
How long we keep your info
Your personal information explicitly shared with SkyLib is stored until you update or delete it. You can at any time request that we delete your personal information. Click here to do so.
We store server logs for no longer than two months.
We store server backups for no more than six months.
