The
National Library consists of different buildings: Main Library,
Natural History Museum, Scientific Museum, Hyper (sky) Dome,
Arts & General events exhibition halls and a cafeteria suspended
at 100 m. supported by terraces and faced to the surrounded
areas.
The main building base consists of three cylindrical towers, the
library body will be fixed on the towers on an axis extended
north to south, with the wing shaped floors spanned wider in
the upper levels.
Lower Area:
The lower part of the building will take its shape from the
concrete frame, where the museums of Natural History, Science
and the Arts halls are located. Landscaping will be arranged
to give an impression of a floating building.
Central Area
The central area, between the three towers is the main
building entrance; in the northeast corner of the base will be
Hyper (Sky) Dome and solar system simulator.
Upper
Building
Three giant cylindrical towers of 18 m. in diameter will
support the upper body of the library, each floor of the upper
building will be shaded for protection from the sun, which
will give the impression of spanned wings. The roof will be
open for the public to enjoy views of Doha bay.
